Jasmine’s COOKbook: The Q2 Airdrop Digest

A succulent quartet of hearty airdrop-inspired recipes, curated for your (financial) health and verdure this quarter.

Gm and welcome to the inaugural edition of Jasmine’s COOKbook. Having been plagued by seasonal flu over the past week, I was inspired to dub this piece something mawkish involving Fall and colder weather. Ruefully, I realised that wouldn’t accomplish much in the way of ingratiating myself to the 90% of you that reside in the northern hemisphere, hence I settled on the more corporately robotic, insipid Q2 wording. Since I’m full of surprises, let’s pretend the underwhelming title is merely a piece of purposeful legerdemain to juxtapose these four undeniably juicy, flavoursome recipes for hearty, rich airdrop spoils. Contrary to some overused adage; this season, wealth is health.

Airdrops, airdrops, airdrops. Amid the throes of an extended NFT bear market and on the heels of $ARB which netted thousands of punters six figures, they offer an alternative yellow brick road to prosperity. I’d like to place heavy emphasis on the brick, however, which is why I’ve compiled specifically an anthology of four promising drops currently worth farming. Follow these recipes diligently and you might similarly dine Michelin-star this season, metaphorically and literally. For those commanding a legion of farming accounts, season these recipes with the sybil attack avoidance tips included in the addendum. After all, “Airdrop” is technically synonymous with “Skyfall,” and some of the sedulous risk minimising tactics used by whales and other airdrop agriculturalists would make Bond himself blush.

Let the rigmarole begin. In a plateable, palatable format.

RECIPE #1: SUI

CORRECTING and REPLACING BitGo Becomes First Custodian to Support Sui Ecosystem | Business Wire

Cooking time:

  • Greater than 6 months.

Nutritional Information:

  • Mysten Labs, the company behind Sui, has raised over $300 million in funding from the likes of a16z, FTX Ventures, Jump Crypto, Binance Labs, and Coinbase. For reference, Arbitrum raised $120 million.
  • 6% of $SUI initial allocation is reserved for Sui Community Access Program/App Testers, with 20% slated for Early Contributors. The permanent testnet was recently launched.
  • Disclaimer: There aren't current plans for an airdrop according to a Sui developer. However, the team has emphasised that “the rewarding and distribution of SUI tokens to Sui’s early community members [will be] a topmost priority,” leaving a window of opportunity for us to latch onto.

Ingredients:

  • Sui Wallet, Suiet Wallet, SuiSwap, MovEX, CetusProtocol, Sui Name Service, CREW3

Procedure:

  1. First, gather your essentials!
    1. Download and create a Sui wallet from the Chrome Web Store.
    2. Join the Sui Discord and type !faucet [wallet address] in the devnet-faucet channel to dispense $SUI.
    3. Preheat oven to whatever temperature you’d like.
  2. Start on the recipe’s base. Use the stake feature in Sui wallet with any validator and send funds to any other wallet. Explore dApps on Sui for good measure.
  3. Now, we need to prepare our SuiSwap. Connect to SuiSwap and mint the test token, swap Sui for any other token, and add pool for a token pairing. Combine into the mixture.
  4. Retrieve your MovEX, connect your wallet, and claim test token from the faucet. Conduct a token swap and then add liquidity until smooth. Lightly whisk and then add to the mixture.
  5. Repeat Step 4 using CetusProtocol. Request whichever coin you’d like according to your palate – ETH provides a gentle, caramellised aftertaste suitable to most, whereas USDT contributes to a stronger, more controversial flavour.
  6. Personalise! Claim a domain from the Sui Name Service to add some zesty uniqueness.
  7. Season to taste by minting NFTs via the Suiet Wallet. Mix well and place in oven indefinitely. You really want to take your time with high-calibre recipes like this!
  8. While cooking, you should complete CREW3 games/tasks to amass XP, remain active in their Discord and in Sui social media circles, stay up-to-date on announcements, and most importantly repeat these steps weekly or monthly.
  9. After an undetermined amount of time, your cook may or may not be ready. Sorry for the uncertainty, I guess we could call it a family secret? Claim, dump on exchanges, and serve hot! Bon appetit.

RECIPE #2: zkSync

zkSync - Products, Competitors, Financials, Employees, Headquarters Locations

Cooking Time:

  • Approximately 6-12 months.

Nutritional Information:

  • The Matter Labs has raised $458 million in funding, including from a16z, ByBit, and Huobi Ventures.
  • $ZKS token is confirmed! The Matter Labs CEO hinted that an airdrop would occur in ~1 year, although speculation points to Q2 2023.
  • zkSync Mainnet has been live since 25 March; this dish is still avant-garde (ie. you’re early).

Ingredients:

  • Wallet (MetaMask, Argent, ONTO, Blockwallet), ETH, ZigZag, SpaceFi, SyncSwap, CREW3.

Recipe:

  1. Combine zkSync Era with your wallet of choice using ChainList. This will add it to MetaMask or another wallet such as Argent, ONTO, or Blockwallet.
  2. Lightly bridge 0.1 ETH or more using the official bridge, according to budget. The more the merrier to ensure qualification. Remember to keep ETH in each wallet to avoid being purged, and of course, for maximum flavour dissemination.
  3. Prepare your ZigZag by using it to bridge funds to zkSync, and then make a trade using Mainnet for an extra kick!
  4. Use SyncSwap to perform at least 5 swaps, add liquidity to pool, and then withdraw. Again, higher volumes are preferable. Place in oven.
  5. While cooking, complete CREW3 quests to be used as a garnish and follow the zkSync Twitter to use dApps as they are released – for example, Ramp, Omnisea, and Nexon Finance. Repeat steps weekly or monthly indefinitely and pray/manifest/will a rich airdrop into existence.

RECIPE #3: LayerZero

LayerZero Labs Raises $135 Million to Create Omnichain Crypto Networks | Business Wire

Cooking Time:

  • Approximately 6-12 months.

Nutritional Information:

  • LayerZero is an omnichain protocol designed to increase blockchains’ abilities to connect with each other, for example through cross-chain bridging.
  • It has raised over $170 million from large VCs not limited to a16z, Sequoia, and Binance Labs.
  • A $ZRO airdrop is unconfirmed but likely for those who have utilised protocols built on LayerZero.

Ingredients:

  • AptosBridge, LiquidSwap, Stargate, Rage Trade, Radiant Capital.

Recipe:

  1. Complete cross-chain bridging from any EVM chain (ETH, ARB, etc.) to Aptos using AptosBridge and LiquidSwap. This will contribute to an exotic flavour that’s useful in fusion dishes. We recommend using at least $100 to maintain quality.
  2. Using Stargate, perform functions such as staking $STG, voting with $veSTG, bridging funds, and providing liquidity for bridging. Use a sieve/strainer/low-cost chain to filter out unnecessary fees!
  3. Combine everything in a pot and bring it to a boil. Deposit/withdraw tokens using Radiant Capital to balance flavour. Allow simmering by opening ETH perpetual positions using Rage Trade.
  4. Spice things up by bridging testnet tokens! If you’re unsure which spices to add, I would recommend using ChainList to add the Goerli and Avalanche Fuji testnet chains, after which tokens can be claimed from the Avax, USDC, and Goerli faucets.
  5. While simmering, repeat Steps 1-4 weekly until complete. In the meantime, you may wish to invest in 100kg of nebulised copium as well as mindfulness lessons to boost your sanity and patience.

RECIPE #4: StarkNet

Building on StarkNet: A Primer for New Developers Migrating from Ethereum | by Park Yeung | Medium

Cooking Time:

  • Approximately 6-12 months.

Nutritional Information:

  • $STRK is the token of StarkWare, a web3 company valued at $8 billion that spearheaded the StarkNet tech stack (StarkEx, StarkGate, etc.).
  • Last July, reputable scammer Zhu Su (3AC) leaked the token launch, which was originally slated for September 2022 but has been postponed.
  • Presently, no additional airdrop for users has been confirmed. However, 8.1% of the token distribution is “unallocated,” so it’s worth testing the network and protocols.

Ingredients:

  • Argent X, Braavos, StarkGate, MySwap/10KSwap, MintSquare, StarkBoard, Aspect marketplace.

Recipe:

  1. Assemble your basic ingredients! There are 2 wallets in the StarkNet ecosystem, Argent X and Braavos. It’s worthwhile setting these up and using the Swap function and dApps as they become available.
  2. Add ETH to the mélange by bridging from L1 using StarkGate – anywhere from 0.1 to 1 should suffice.
  3. Next, you can swap ETH using MySwap or 10KSwap. Just ensure you’ve sparged with ample liquidity to maintain a sufficiently delectable viscosity.
  4. Combine your mixture with NFTs! These can be bought, sold, and minted on MintSquare, an Ethereum L2 ZK Rollups marketplace (ie. for StarkNet, zkSync), or Aspect, which is built on StarkNet.
  5. Place your mixture into the refrigerator to chill forevermore. While repeating Steps 1-4 frequently – and attempting to avoid hypocrisy by also chilling out despite the undisclosed rewards for your blood, sweat, and tears – you should also engage with the Discord for StarkBoard, the analytics and data platform for StarkNet.

ADDENDUM: Anti-Sybil Seasoning!

What is sybil attacking? Using numerous alternate accounts to subvert distributive or reputation systems. In this context, it refers to the utilisation of multiple accounts to farm airdrops. Spoiler alert, 99.99% of projects oppose this (imagine that!) and it’s the fastest way to dumpster fire your efforts and get yourself disqualified from airdrops if caught.

Hence, you’ll need to limit evidence of any connection between your accounts and render each “persona” believable. Discrete is the aim, and discreet is the game. I won’t delve into this too far, but you’d be wise to hide your sordid affairs by:

  1. Using CEXs to fund wallets and avoiding inter-wallet transactions.
  2. Maintaining funds ($100+) and a diverse portfolio of tokens/NFTs on each wallet.
  3. Buying ENS or other name service domains.
  4. Creating and maintaining social identities for each account, ie. Twitter, Discord.

Incorporating these elements into your dishes will masquerade your errant ways as a culinary genius and ensure the continued extolling of your gourmet way. Serve with jasmine tea, obviously. I'll be enjoying mine steaming hot this fall, I prefer my icy airdropped, after all.
